On The Go Beauty Essentials

On The Go Beauty Essentials

Every time I switch my handbag over - which is every other day or so as I like to make the most of my ever growing bag collection - without fail I move the same little gang of beauty essentials over. They've unwittingly become my little comfort blanket as without them my day never really feels complete. They manage to make me look and feel my best and I can tackle pretty much any bad beauty moment with them.

DHC Beauty Lift Eye Care Essence Roll-On* is a new release from my favourite Japanese brand, DHC Skincare. It's packed full of active ingredients such as mevalonolactone and ceramide 3 to protect the skin's moisture barrier and prevent moisture loss, and pentapeptide-18 to firm fine lines and improve the elasticity of the delicate eye area. It also uses oat kernel extract to soothe tired eyes and further firm the skin.

With a couple of clicks the roller ball pen perks up my tired peepers throughout the day and the three metal balls are not only cooling and refreshing, but they help stimulate the circulation and reduce puffiness. It's actually a little bit addictive to use as it feels so nice! If I'm applying it over make up I tend to dab the serum on with my finger to avoid disturbing my concealer. This is perfect to keep on you all the time, especially as the Christmas party season is almost upon us. No one will know you were out last night, promise.

Still focusing on the eyes, the Bobbi Brown Corrector and I are old friends. I simply can't leave the house without it. I have been known to have to pick up a new one when it fell out of my bag in the car once. Cool story, bro. This peachy pink toned cream counteracts the discolouration under my eyes and in the inside corner and really brightens up the whole area. I can either leave it at that or pop a little bit of concealer on top to help melt it into the rest of my makeup. As its so cute and diddy and even has its own little mirror inside it's perfect for keeping in my bag or coat pocket. I will forever cherish this little pot of brightness!

On the subject of mirrors, this gorgeous rose gold Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder is both my setting powder and compact mirror of choice. The powder is ever so finely milled so it blurs out any imperfections and keeps my makeup in place without looking powdery or cakey. It's almost invisible yet does its job very well. For someone with dry skin who avoided powder for years, this Charlotte Tilbury pick has converted me. You can always trust in the Tilbs.

It may be a bit excessive to some, but I like to have a little selection of lip products on me. I wouldn't be a blogger if my bag wasn't swimming with lipsticks after all. Firstly, I get very dry lips which I contribute to six months of roaccutane so a lip balm is a must. I think I may have discovered my all time favourite lip product in the guise of the DHC Lip Cream*. It's great as there's no dipping your fingers into a pot which I absolutely hate. Shudder. It intensely moisturises my lips, providing a perfect base for matte and liquid lipsticks. Benefiting from lanolin, vitamin E, aloe vera and DHC's famous olive oil, it soothes and hydrates. Given the colder weather is now upon us this is going to be my saviour. I need at least another couple to stash in my coat and car so I'm never without it.

Back to the Tilbs with this little Pillow Talk duo. This is the lip combo I've worm most days this month as it goes with absolutely every makeup look. I can even apply the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk without a mirror as its that fuss-free! It's the best matte formula out there in my opinion. I'm so glad its now a permanent product in the line as it's one I know I'm going to forever repurchase.

If I'm after a super perfect application I go around the edges of my lip with a little layer of the matching Pillow Talk Lip Cheat as my lips are aren't quite even and I like to make them look a little fuller. Or if I'm being super lazy and have a tiny bag on me I just use the liner all over on it's own. Et voila!
