Cute Jewels From The Iconic Jewellery Store

Iconic jewellery store canterbury

Over the last few months I've made a conscious effort to accessorise my outfits more as I really feel that little details elevate my quite laid back, possible dull everyday style to something much more interesting and stylish. I always go for comfort over everything else so it kinda needed addressing at some point! The only problem was that upon going through my rather tangled jewellery collection it was evident that most of my items had seen better days and needed to be retired for better quality jewels.

I very rarely buy jewellery online as I like to get a sense of what it looks like next to my skin, so when the Iconic Jewellery Store in Canterbury invited me and a few other bloggers along it was the perfect opportunity to have a good nose around at their collections. What I've come to really love about Iconic is just how darn lovely they all are. You know how sometimes you walk into a store and everything is safely locked away in glass cabinet and the snooty sales assistants make you want to run for the door as you daren't ask for help? There's none of that at Iconic. On the flip side actually they're super friendly and keen to chat through all the different brands they stock, from Thomas Sabo, Daisy London, Swarovski, Trollbeads and Nomination, to more quirky and super cool ethical brands like Alex and Ani, there's a whole load of trinkets to try on, guys.

We were very kindly gifted a few amazing pieces which have become firm favourites in my new much more desirable jewellery collection and I've even surprised myself by trying out a couple of new trends that I never thought were for me.

Oh now this one is a divider! Most people either prefer either gold or silver jewellery and stick to what they love, but I'm pretty fond of both. I didn't really know how to mix them before now as I have more gold pieces than silver, yet my wedding rings and earrings are platinum. I picked up a silver Nomination charm bracelet* which bridges the gap wonderfully. The stretchy metal bracelet is silver, yet the charms are a mix of silver and gold so it really complements everything. It's a super modern take on charms too as it's flat and fitted to the wrist which I absolutely adore. There's absolutely hundreds of charms too, so I'm gonna bagsy me all the cat ones for sure!

I've had a couple of L necklaces over the years but its always fun to be able to really make something your own. I've been wearing this Thomas Sabo Love Bridge Bracelet* since the moment I got it and I had to choose a little pusscat paw to be engraved on the little silver disc. Plus you get to press the button yourself and watch the machine do its thing - simple pleasures and all that. It's subtle yet chic and very me because hello crazy cat lady. I love the mix of fresh water pearls and rose quartz too, so while it's quite understated it's really delicate and stylish and looks amazing with a fine knit jumper or silk shirt.

Not that I have a huge necklace collection now like I mentioned earlier, but this cute Swarovski Crystal Wishes necklace set* is the perfect excuse to whack a few on as it's a major trend right now. The cute pendants look amazing together and work beautifully with my diamond earrings. I tend to wear them at staggered lengths to really maximise the layers. I might try pairing them with something a little longer over a v neck or open shirt for some bonus style points.

What do you think of my new jewellery additions from the Iconic Jewellery Store? And please settle it for me - do you mix gold and silver?

If you're in Canterbury make sure you head into Iconic as they have so many gorgeous pieces. I also have it on good authority that the vegan food stand up the road does a wicked 'egg' sandwich...
