Benefit California Blusher review

Benefit California Blusher review

Benefit's Dandelion Blush was probably my first product from the brand some 13 years ago now (yeah I know that was a long time ago!) and so there's a fair degree of nostalgia that I hold for Benefit's boxed blushes. I don't have many now and haven't picked up any since Hervana a year or two ago but I couldn't resist the newly launched Benefit Galifornia Blusher.

Now the design of the packaging is a little cutesy which I'm not totally sold on, but inside the box is the most stunning blush that I had to make mine. Inspired by the golden bronzy tan of a true Californian surfer gal, this blush to me is summer in a cute little box, truly. The sun embossed design on the top is almost too gorgeous to ruin, but oh so tempting. I bought this a couple of weeks ago but obviously couldn't use it until I had taken photos of it's gloriousness, and it almost killed me!

The gold overspray is a nice touch but sadly disappears after a couple of swirls of your weapon of choice. On the subject of brushes, I always opt for a fluffy one like the Nars Yachiyo Kabuki, and can never bring myself to ruin the cute Benefit mini brushes!

The colour itself is a coral-pink, and is almost orange looking in the pan, but it translates on my pale skin as the most flattering glow, and isn't anywhere near as scary as you might think. It's almost as good as a lie in as it really wakes up my complexion which is a-ok in my books! Also, can we talk about the gorgeous scent? It's vanilla and pink grapefruit aroma gives me serious summer holiday vibes. Now the sun is making more of an appearance (ok it's been one day but still...) I just wanna dust of my shorts and soak up the sun!

Will you be picking this up?
