A Splash of Autumnal Colour

Paul & Joe Beaute Autumn Collection 2016 review

The best thing for me about autumn makeup is that it pushes me out of my colour boundaries. Now technically I can do this any time, but I rarely tend to stray away from my safety zone of neutrals. The arrival of Paul & Joe's autumn drop is the little push I needed towards colour. I have three products from the line, but it's everything I need for flattering dash of colour.

First up is the beautiful Paul & Joe Eye Colour in September Song*. This cutely packaged little trio houses the most beautiful collection of purple-toned shades that work together so well. The lighter, shimmery pink makes a great base and inner corner highlight. It's a little too shimmery to be used on it's own or on the brow for my liking, but it provides the perfect touch of light when added as an accent. The middle cranberry hue is a beaut of a shade, and it's the one that I gravitate towards most. I tend to use the darker more purple shade with this to add definition to the crease or to smudge along the lash line for a little drama.

For brows, there's the Paul & Joe Eyebrow Pen*. This is a fairly sheer coverage pen that gives me effortless natural fluffy brows. I'm trying to grow mine out at the moment so this is great for filling in the gaps and just adding the appearance of texture. I'm totally over defined sharp brows at the moment, lazy brows really are a must for me right now! The formula of these helps moisturise the skin and prevent irritation, which is great for my reactive skin. I swear my skin wasn't anywhere near as sensitive as it is now after Roaccutane. It's the price you pay for clear skin it would seem!

The Paul & Joe Lipstick in Autumn Sun* is a soft coral that I wouldn't normally associate as being an autumn shade, but paired with the September Song palette it just works. The formula is quite sheer and moisturising as it has an oil base which glides over the lips, providing lasting comfort and pigmentation. Paul & Joe's lipstick formula is so dreamy and comforting - really worth trying if you haven't already. What I really love about Paul & Joe's limited edition collections are the fact that the lipsticks are refills and you can pick and choose the cases. I have the Paul & Joe Lipstick Case 035*, which perfectly matches the September Song palette. The floral pattern is beautiful, but definitely not too cutesy or twee.

What do you think of Paul & Joe and will you be picking up any of the range for autumn?
