A NYX Haul

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream & NYX Butter Gloss Review

As I can't wear much lipstick at the moment, naturally I'm obsessing about it and have started collecting ALL THE LIPSTICKS. Well, liquid lipsticks specifically but I'm not particularly fussy right now, truth be told! When my hydration levels are more normal I'm going to be changing my lip colour more frequently than Beyoncé changes her outfit!

I digress...Anyway, I had a little trip to Selfridges recently and basically cleared the NYX stand. Don't judge, it was long overdue as I don't have a counter anywhere near me yet!

I wanted to try out a few different formulas, and where to start than with the glosses. I picked up a NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brûlée, which is a dreamy light pink nude that goes with just about anything. It's hydrating and comfortable on the lips and for a gloss it lasts pretty well too. I hadn't seen the NYX Intense Butter Glosses before, so came away with Tres Leche, a true nude brown which is probably my favourite out of the lot, as well as Toasted Marshmallow, a gorgeous plum shade that's super wearable and destined to be a hit come Autumn. You can see by the swatches below that the NYX Intense Butter Glosses pack a punch in terms of colour and they last a little longer than the Butter Gloss too. Also worth mentioning that none of these are sticky, so if you're not usually a gloss fan like me you'll probably like these!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Swatches

I can't wear the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams just yet, but I'm definitely stocked up for when I can. Naturally I bought all the pinky nudes and light brown shades. I couldn't leave without picking up Stockholm, it's quite similar to Tres Leche colour-wise, but in a more long wearing cream texture. It's one of those shades that looks awesome and yet slightly different on everyone. For the pinks, I picked up Tokyo which is the lighter pink, and Milan, which is a bit deeper with a blue undertone. I'm certainly going to wear all of these shades loads, they go with everything! I was quite intrigued by the NYX Liquid Suede formula, which is more of a liquid lipstick. The shade I got is Tea & Cookies and it's such a dreamy pink.

I also picked up a couple of the NYX Slide on Lip Pencils so that I can get a nice crisp edge to my lips. I have the rosy pink Bedrock and the more nude shade, Sugar Glass. They're nice and creamy too and I've been wearing these on their own and they last pretty well. Obviously as my lips are super dry they're not going to stay looking great for too long at the moment. Lastly, I grabbed a NYX Wonder Pencil for faking a few hours extra sleep. It lasts pretty well in the waterline; not bad Pig, not bad.

Will you be picking up any of these?
