Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil

Face oils are totally my thing and a step I never miss every evening, so when Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil came out a while ago it was speedily put on my wishlist. An oil that improves your skin while you snooze? Surely you can't get much better than that. Cue a few weeks of tracking it down as everyone else had the same idea and snapped up all the stock, but I got my paws on a bottle of the blue goodness in the end.

Now that I've been using this consistently for a while it seems only right that I share my musings on the latest Sunday Riley release with you. This is my second purchase from the brand, having tried the Start Over eye cream a while ago (which is well worth picking up I might add!). For those not familiar with the brand, Sunday Riley blends pure botanical ingredients with the latest advancements in chemistry, meaning that the products born from this union are truly effective and innovative. It goes without saying that this does mean that you are paying quite a bit for products from the range, but if you are serious about anti-ageing and improving your skin it's certainly worth it. Of course if you are in your early twenties you can skip this and save your pennies.

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil is rather special in appearance; a deep greeny blue oil given its colour by blue tansy. Then there's the gorgeous glass bottle and pipette which looks pretty darn wonderful on my bathroom shelf. Luna is an oil with a difference, as it is actually a treatment suspended in an oil. Not only does it fight the signs of ageing, but it also reduces pore size, improves the texture and elasticity of the skin, heals blemishes as well as repairing the damage caused by sun, the environment and pollution. That's quite a lot to pack into one product! As well as containing cold pressed advocado, grape seed and chia oils, the star of the show is trans-retinol ester which is much gentler on the skin than it's retinoid family, but still very effective. If you want to try out retinols/vitamin A or have found them to be quite harsh and drying on your skin, Luna is an awesome alternative.

Luna Sleeping Night Oil is best applied to dry cleansed skin in the evening and gently massaged in. It's very blue in person which means its super easy to know when you've properly applied it as the colour then disappears. It also sinks in very quickly and feels quite light and comfortable in texture, so my skin never looks or feels greasy. I find Luna to be very hydrating and I never need to add a moisturiser on top. What really surprised me was that I noticed a difference after the first use. My skin looked brighter and more even in texture, my blemish marks seemed not as obvious and my skin felt beautifully soft. I'm not one to really notice immediate changes in my skin after introducing new products, it's more when I don't use them that the difference is clear and I'm left thinking "ah that's what it does!", so this was quite a revelation.

My skin has massively improved since I introduced Luna into my routine. I use it most nights and have found my skin to be much more radiant and hydrated and my fine lines not as noticeable. In the morning it actually looks like I've slept properly and my breakouts clear much quicker. I've also not had any blemish marks or scars form which I tend to really suffer with. I really couldn't praise this bottle of blue loveliness enough. If you're in your late twenties and beyond you need to try this.

Have you tried Luna or anything else from Sunday Riley?
