What's your face worth?

The thought of losing my makeup bag fills me with sheer terror, but I still cart enough to scare a clown around with me as I tend to apply my makeup while on my commute to work. Silly I know, but that extra 20 minutes in bed is vital! It's easy to forget that our makeup bags and their contents can be worth a lot of our hard earned pennies, and not to mention maybe limited edition goodies that could be impossible to replace.

To put things into perspective a little, I went through my makeup bag and the products I've been using over the last week and this is what my face is worth:

Eyes
MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly - £15.50
NARS And God Created The Woman palette - £35
Lord & Berry Back in Black High Definition Mascara* - £13
Clarins Double Fix Mascara - £20
MAC 217 Blending Brush - £19

Eyebrows
Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow - £16.75
Benefit Gimme Brow - £17.50
MAC 266 Small Angle Brush - £16.50
Crown Brushes S221 Spoolie - £2.09

Face
Stila One Step Correct Primer - £24
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser - £29
Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer - £22.95
Stila Convertible Color in Lillium - £16
Chanel Pinceau Blush No 4 Brush - £33 (no idea why I have this on me as its rubbish with a cream blush!)
Real Techniques Buffing Brush (sold as part of the Core Collection only) £21.99

Lips
NUXE Reve De Miel Lip Moisturising Stick - £5.50
Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate Moss Lipstick in 107 - £5.49

Makeup bag
Whistles Small Clutch Bag - £35

Total - £348.27!!

I had to add that up a couple of times but jeezus that's a lot... might have to rethink carrying so much stuff around with me as even though I do have a lot more makeup, the thought of losing almost £350 is not a nice one. I do have quite a few high end things in my bag at the moment, which isn't always the case.

Do you carry a lot of makeup around with you too? Let me know what your face is worth in the comments!

  2. Hello, just discovered your blog via Twitter! I don't carry that much makeup in theory lol, meaning my actual makeup bag only has a brush, powder, one lipstick and dry shampoo but I have at least 6 random lip products rattling around inside my handbag.

  3. Ah, this is terrifying! I had this exact thought a couple of weeks ago whenI packed almost my entire makeup and skincare collection into a bag and with a heavy heart checked it in at the airport. I had an enormous fear that my bag would go missing so spent most of my flight adding up how much it would cost to replace it.... the end number was slightly worrying!

  5. I carry zero makup with me (sometimes a Carmex if it hasn't fallen out of my bag during the day!) but my makeup bag is worth a shocking amount of money. I'm such a magpie when it comes to makeup and a bit of a hoarder!

    1. It's really worrying isn't it? I don't know what I would do if I lost it, but like you I just can't say no to something nice and pretty (and expensive!) x
