Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color Lipsticks

Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color Review

The change of season into Autumn always reignites my love for lipstick. I just can't get enough of dusky pinks and deep burgundy shades! So I was pretty happy that Bobbi Brown launched their new Crushed Lip Color lipsticks at the perfect time and the 20 shades in the range are most definitely autumn appropriate.

This I believe, is the first major launch since Bobbi Brown stepped down from her self-named business and if this is the direction the brand is going in then there are some very exciting times ahead of us. The Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color lipstick range comes at a time when we've been so bogged down with heavy matte formulas that it's a breath of fresh air. The lipsticks are more crushed lip stains with a beautifully comfortable balmy texture which is quite modern and totally my kind of formula. Infused with beeswax and vitamin e and c, the lipsticks glide on wonderfully. The finish of these is quite unique. Not satin, and not matte, they sit in the soft matte camp and I don't have anything like these in my collection. They're also richly pigmented so even though they wear like a stain over the day they're not flimsy in colour payoff. I initially thought they might be similar to the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine formula but they're actually very different.

Bobbi Brown say they last for 8 hours which I feel is a bit of a stretch personally, but as they day goes on they fade into a stain and look quite gorgeously undone. When applying the Crushed Lip Color lipsticks I like to plot them with a tissue before applying another coat, which I feel gives them more longevity and a truer colour, but as far as nourishing lipsticks go they do last pretty well. They're super easy to apply and I don't feel like you have to be too careful with them, although I would always use a mirror personally (the brand claim you don't need one). The Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color lipsticks are definitely a minimal effort chuck-on-and-go option which suits me just fine!

As I mentioned there are 20 shades which run from nudes to true reds and deeper wine shades. It took me forever to decide which shades I wanted - check out Laura's post as her swatches really helped me. I eventually went for Lilac, a dusky blue-toned rose pink, and Ruby which is a much richer autumnal wine shade. I thought I'd get the best wear out of these shades and they're not too similar to the rest of my collection. There's also a couple of shades that are quite bright, such as Sunset which is a beautiful orange that I'm borderline obsessed with, and the fail safe true nude, Bare. I'll be picking up both of these I'm sure. The Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color lipsticks are going to be my autumn/winter lip wardrobe, they're just so addictive!

What do you think of this new launch from Bobbi Brown? Will you be picking up any of these lipsticks?
