Delving Into The World Of DHC Skincare

DHC skincare review

I was first introduced to DHC Skincare a few years back when my local Fenwicks stopped stocking it and I picked up a liquid eyeliner for £4! And ever since I've been kicking myself that I didn't buy the entire stock they had as it was all so reduced.

I was recently sent a generous parcel of DHC Skincare products to try so I thought I'd give you my on the range. If you're not familiar with DHC, they're a Japanese brand that blends plant based ingredients with new and exciting ideas. Olive oil is at the heart of their range and their products are very much inspired by it.

Let's start off with the product that started it all for me shall we? The DHC Liquid Eyeliner* is intensely pigmented, and really easy to use as the nib is a very fine brush. It's easy to get a very precise line and the sharpest cat flick. It doesn't drag the eyelid and once in place it lasts all day. It really is the eyeliner that made me love wearing liquid liner as it's just so simple to use!

If you're a little new to eyeliner, or are struggling to keep makeup in place in the summer heat (aren't we all?), then the DHC Olive Virgin Oil Swabs* will come in handy. Individually wrapped (which I find super satisfying, actually almost as much as mini travel sized products!), they're really handy for correcting any mistakes and smudges. The cotton buds are soaked in olive oil so they dissolve makeup really easily without the need to rub and irritate your skin. My hay fever is thankful for these!

DHC Mascara Perfect Pro Double Protection* is the first tubing mascara that I've tried. It completely covers each individual lash, providing long-wearing coverage while lengthening and separating the lashes. It's more an every day mascara so you'll want something else for a more dramatic look I would say, but once its on, its on. No crumbling or smudging in sight.

When it's finally time to remove the mascara, the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil* melts it in a flash. This is such a cult product and for good reason. The oil easy dissolves makeup and as it's olive oil based it leaves the skin feeling super soft - a real must have for dry skin. I really like to use it for facial massage in the evening as it has a good amount of slip so doesn't drag my skin. It's full of antioxidants and nutrients so I think to just remove makeup with it and wash it away seems like a waste!

For a morning cleanse I have been reaching for the DHC Face Wash Powder*. This is such a neat idea for a cleanser! It's a powder which, when mixed with a little water, turns into a fluffy foam. It's uses enzymes to remove impurities and leaves my skin looking much brighter. Exactly what I've been craving for dull skin days. Even though this is technically a foaming face wash, it isn't in anyway harsh. It doesn't strip the skin at all, so is great for my sensitive skin. As it's a powder it's awesome for travelling with too.

Last up is a primer, because if a brand has a primer I have to try it! DHC Velvet Skin Coat* is a silicone based gel primer that smooths onto the skin to create a perfect canvas for makeup. It reduces the oiliness that creeps across my t-zone by lunch time and somehow fills in my fine lines. If you love Benefit Professional then you will adore this primer from DHC.

Have you tried anything from DHC?
