Solarium Point | New Hair

Solarium Point Hair Salon Ramsgate Review

My hair has been in dire need of an overhaul for a while, but I've been holding off colouring it as it was feeling quite dry and damaged and needed a break. So needless to say when the kind folks at Solarium Point* in Ramgate invited me down for a colour and I couldn't say no!

Solarium Point has been open for a year and a half now and it's literally the most beautiful salon I've ever been to. Seriously, it's so Instagramable! The owner, Anna, has a background in interior design and architecture which she's used to make the most stunning and inviting salon. The white and blush hues and geometric decor is really beautiful and calming - exactly the kind of experience you want at a beauty salon.

Solarium Point offer everything from hair to brows, nails, tanning and beauty so whatever you're in the mood for, they're your guys! The salon is also a Bumble and Bumble exclusive salon, so if you're into your Bumble haircare like I am you're in for a treat. I'm obsessed with their Sunday and Surf shampoos as well as their primers as you might already know.

Darren, Solarium Point's very own colour wizard, created the most flattering golden copper colour for me. We discussed the kind of colour I was going for beforehand, and as well as picking out the colours I liked, Darren was very keen to understand what colours and undertones I didn't like so he could create a custom colour that was one hundred percent me. And I think you'll agree he got it spot on! I love the warm golden shade and now I've washed it a couple of times it's settling in perfectly. It's most definitely copper, but a more natural summer appropriate shade than the bright orange copper I've had in the past.

Anna, Darren and the whole team at Solarium Point are so welcoming too, so I'll be heading back there for sure. I'm thinking nails next!

I hope you're having a great bank holiday whatever you're up to. I've been gardening and cooking so far and it's been lush!

Lazy Girl Brows

paul-and-joe-beauty-eyebrow-pen-glossier-boy-brow

I always feel like if I've got my mascara on and my brows done I can kinda tackle anything. Brows frame the face after all and do make such a difference. While my brows and I have had our ups and downs over the years (who hasn't got tweezer happy!?), I've managed to get them to a place that I'm happy with. They're still a bit gappy in places but overall, they're cool.

Stuff & Things.

I feel like I've lost my pace with blogging lately and haven't caught up with you guys for what feels like an eternity. Life has been pretty busy and its meant I've not had much time to do the things I want to do (sleep, I'm looking at you!), so I thought I'd do a little round up what's been going on around these parts.

Beautyblender All About Face Set + Giveaway

Beautyblender All About Face Set

I still find it mad that the beauty world went a bit crazy for this pink egg shaped sponge, but it did and we all fell hard for it! The Beautyblender revolutionised makeup application, giving everyone a little leg up when it came to achieving a perfectly blended, seamless and natural base. Many dupes and competitors have come in its wake, but I always go back to the original pink sponge.

Beautyblender has taken it to the next level and released All About Face* a little family of sponges, each one a different size suited to applying a specific product, and it also comes with a solid cleanser so it has everything you need to create a flawless complexion.

The set of course contains the original sized beautyblender for applying foundation. I've been using this a lot lately with my trusty IT Cosmetics CC Cream as it melts the product into the skin and leaves it really glowy and natural. The next size down in the set is the grey beautyblusher. As the name suggests, its great for applying cream and gel blushes, and I also like this for contouring with. This blends the Glossier Cloud Paints out like a dream and leaves it seamless on the skin. As the sponge is smaller it's a lot easier to get a more precise application, especially if you're a bit heavy handed like me.

The micro mini sponge is so cute and tiddly! I know that's not really a reason to recommend you rush out now and get one but its tiny size is somewhat satisfying! Its also really good at blending in concealer, especially under the eyes. I find I'm using a lot less product and its creasing less than usual as the micro mini really pushes everything into the skin and adheres it all together.

It's so important to ensure you wash all your beauty tools properly to stop bacteria from spreading and causing breakouts, so its great to see a little blendercleanser solid in the set. It cleans up my beautyblenders really well and its also good for brushes. A little tip for you if you don't have a soap dish or anywhere to store the solid cleanser but I keep mine in an old Lush shampoo bar tin so it doesn't make a mess once I've finished using it - you're welcome. If you've always been curious about the beautyblender and wanted a little starter kit to try out, All About Face is a great collection. Or maybe you just like having a few spares around like I do!

I actually have a second set to give away, so if you'd like to try out the beautyblender All About Face Set make sure you enter the below competition. It's open internationally until 17 May 2017. Good luck!

My Most Recommended Beauty Products

most-recommended-beauty-products

I love trying out new beauty products and I feel so fortunate that through my blog I get to test out upcoming releases and discover new brands. While I do flit about and switch things up a lot, there's a handful of products that I repeatedly purchase and without hesitation recommend over and over again to anyone who will listen, so I thought I'd share them just in case you've not yet tried them. And if not, you should!
