The Glossy Dewy Cheek Edit

The Glossy Dewy Cheek Edit

I find it so crazy to think that it wasn't all that long ago that I was so obsessed with creating a perfected base, and now I'm always reaching for much more lightweight barely there products, or sometimes just a smidge of concealer and nothing else.
What hasn't changed though is my love of radiant skin - although maybe it's evolved slightly into healthy, dewy skin and a whole load of highlight! Now I actually spend much more time perfecting my cheeks and highlighting than I do making my face blur into one!

Spring and summer bring about the perfect conditions for dewy cheeks so I've pulled together a little edit of products that do the job wonderfully. As it gets warmer I want fairly fuss-free makeup, so the brief every morning right now is simply glossy and dewy radiance.

This kind of makeup in my opinion calls for a light and invisible base. That's where the Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint is perfect. It's virtually undetectable on the skin, and the fluid formula buffs into the complexion like a dream. It's very liquidy so its hard to imagine that it provides any coverage at all, but it definitely evens out imperfections and fakes radiance for me - the perfect no-makeup makeup that makes you look well rested! For any areas that need a little more coverage I tend to either buff in a little more of the Skin Tint, or apply a dab of the Glossier Stretch Concealer. It's another pick that literally melts into the skin but provides buildable coverage without going cakey. It really brightens the under eyes as well.

Now onto the main event, the cheeks. Sticking with the healthy skin vibe and keeping it looking fairly natural, the new Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff is a blush I'm reaching for most days. It's a gel-cream formula which adds the perfect pinched-cheek glow on my pale skin. It's super buildable too and I find it so easy to use. Lisa Eldridge used this shade in her latest video and you can see just how simple it is to use. Out of all the products I picked up from Glossier this is one of my faves. I will be ordering the other colours in the range too as they're so gorgeous.

I'm kind of flitting between lots of different highlighters at the moment, and really mixing up the formulas to obtain dewy cheek goals. I never look to more affordable brands for highlighting products as I've never found any that have enough payoff, but the new Maybelline Master Strobe Liquid Illuminating Highlighters are an exception. I'm mainly using the medium / nude shade as it's super bronzy and really wakes up my skin. It gives quite a lit from within dewy glow when applied, but when layered it looks super glossy and gives those makeup artist strobing vibes. I totally recommend checking these out if you're looking for a Becca Skin Perfector dupe as they're good contenders.

I couldn't leave out the Stila Heaven's Hue Highlighter in Transcendence* as it's once of my most reached for highlighters at the moment. It has the same opalescent pinky hue as the Maybelline liquid highlight, so if you really want those cheeks to be glossy and dewy, the two layered are perf. Just sayin' ...

Are glossy dewy cheeks your kind of thing too?
