Stila Glitter Underground

Stila Glitter Underground Spring 2017 Collection

Stila's spring collection - Glitter Underground, couldn't have been more perfectly timed. I've just embraced the idea of glitter at the grand age of 33 and therefore I've got a lot of time to make up for! The inspiration for the collection is 70's disco, but it's also very modern owing to the selection of luxurious textures and colours. It's certainly very divine and grown up - a fair cry from a lot of metallic formulas that tend to grace the beauty aisles.

Glitter Underground is a pretty big launch from Stila, featuring a gorgeous eyeshadow palette with a mix of mattes and metallic shades, five new liquid lipsticks, two glitter top coats, and for me the stars of the show; the new highlighters and liquid eyeshadows.

Diving straight into the eyeshadows as they're really quite something, which are an evolution of their popular foil finish eyeshadows. The Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows are incredibly unique. Housed in what looks like a lip gloss tube, they glide straight over the eyelid and have a little bit of play time for blending before they lock in place. The staying power is pretty impressive and there's hardly any fall out which I'm thankful for - nothing worse than ending up with glitter all over your face!

The Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows are super glossy and as you can see from the swatch, they really pack a punch. The formula is the most gorgeous mix of glitter and pearl, so they're very iridescent and smooth to apply. I have the shade Smouldering Satin* which is a bronzey gold hue that is so wearable. Among the other shades in the range there's one based on their iconic Kitten eyeshadow which I'm going to have to pick up at some point. I'm literally besotted with everything Kitten - and not just because I'm a bit of a mad cat lady!

The other new launch in the collection is the Stila Heaven's Hue Highlighter*. It comes in three shades and the one I have is Trancedence*. It's the most flattering pearlescent lilac which is perfect for pale skins and I think it would also look phenomenal on darker skintones.

We really need to talk about the texture of this highlighter as it's unlike anything I've ever seen before. It's almost like a cream, but really not at the same time. It's a bouncy putty which is so light and velvety on the skin. It almost melts into the complexion and gives the most dreamy effect. I'm definitely going to be picking up at least the Kitten shade..and maybe Bronze for the summer, you know, just in case I get a tan (stranger things have happened).

I haven't got excited about a launch like this for a while, and it's no surprising Stila are one of my favourite and most reached for brands as they're really defining themselves with collections such as Glitter Underground. Will you be checking out the collection and are you a fan of glitter too?
