A Few Of My Top Beauty Tools

Top beauty tools and makeup brushes

It's amazing what the right tools can do to enhance your beauty routine. I'm no expert by any means, but I find that really good beauty tools make it so easy and pretty much do it all for you. Using your fingers to apply makeup just doesn't cut it anymore, especially when there's such a selection of awesome brushes and tools available to choose from. I thought today I would share a little round up of a few beauty tools that I'm loving right now.

ZOEVA Rose Gold 227 Luxe Soft Definer Brush
My most reached for eyeshadow brush is this ZOEVA pick. So much so that I've now got a couple of back ups - forever putting off washing my brushes you see!, and the MAC 217 is just on standby for when this ZOEVA dupe needs a clean. The quality of ZOEVA brushes is so good, they're really soft and they wash well and don't shed. They're also pretty affordable so there's no excuse for not trying them!

Bobbi Brown Eye Blender Brush
AKA the softest eye brush you will find. Best suited for lightly dusting over a base shade and for blending out colour, this is a fairly long-haired brush that gently yet effectively creates the most beautiful eye looks. It's so soft you'll be finding any excuse you can to get this beaut to work! In fact, my blending technique has massively improved since I picked up this brush as its so darn soft and addictive.

Look Good Feel Better Foundation Brush*
A more traditionally shaped foundation brush compared to the buffing brushes that have taken the beauty world by storm, this hand-made synthetic brush is perfect for applying and building up my base. I really like this with more liquid foundations as somehow it smoothes product into my complexion and doesn't leave any streaks behind. As well as the great application it provides, LGFB is such a great charity to support. I'll be picking up more brushes from them for sure.

So Eco Blush Brush*
This is a soft fluffy blush brush that applies the perfect amount of product every time. It's quite a large brush, but the synthetic hairs pick up just the right amount of product. I also love using this for powder too, so don't feel you have to stick with just it's so-called purpose. So Eco brushes are cruelty free and made from sustainable and biodegradable materials which is a big tick in my book. This handle is also shaped to make it super comfy and easy to hold, so you end up applying just the right amount of pressure.

Real Techniques Bold Metals Diamond Sponge
To blend concealer and finish off my base I love using a damp sponge. This new addition to Real Techniques is every blogger's dream thanks to it's gorgeous marble appearance. The point on the end and little facets around the sponge allow you to get into every nook and cranny and it leaves natural, yet perfected airbrushed skin every time. I find the smaller sides perfect for blending in cream contour too. This is quite a large and unusual shaped sponge so it did take a little getting used to, although it was totally worth it.

The Brow Shaper by Lilibeth of New York
I get a fair amount of peach fuzz on my face which I like to remove as I find it can be quite visible in the sun and some foundations can make it quite noticeable too. These little razors are amazing for removing it, and for shaping your brows which is ultimately what they're supposed to do. They gently remove all of the hair which grows back after a week or two, and if you're wondering it grows back really soft, so no fear of stubble appearing. They also exfoliate my skin and leave it super soft, so my skincare sinks straight in and my makeup applies so much more flawlessly.

Babyliss Brilliant Shine Ionic Hair Brush
This is a new addition but I love it! It's a super clever hairbrush that when turned on releases ions that remove static from my hair and smooth down the hair cuticle. It basically gives the same effect that straightening irons give, but without any heat damage. My hair is super fine so it does tend to get a static-y and stick up any which way, especially in winter. I find that this little brush makes my hair so glossy and shiny, it really is a must have!

Have you tried any of these and what are your favourite beauty tools?
