Kat Von D Beauty Top Picks

Kat Von D Beauty Review

When an American beauty brand comes over to the UK its a pretty big deal. The fact that Kat Von D Beauty is now available at Debenhams is an absolutely huge deal! There's quite a few products in the range, but here are my top picks in case you're wanting to dip your toes into the brand and aren't sure what to go for.

Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are legendary so it's amazing to be able to get my hands on them so much easier. The formula is super long lasting, but it's quite fluid so feels wonderfully comfortable on the lips as well. My favourite shades are Lolita, Susperia and Double Dare. The London Calling Limited Edition Set is a great introduction to Kat von D as it includes the cutest little Lolita Studded Lipstick, a mini Double Dare and a mini Tattoo Liner in Trooper.

For the complexion, the Kat Von D Shade & Light Face Contour Palette is hugely hyped (and majorly deserved). It's more a contour and setting powder palette as none of the shades are particularly highlighting. The Shade & Light palette caters for all skintones and is pretty cool toned, much more so than the Anastasia and Lorac offerings so that's something to bear in mind. I find I actually use a lot of the shades in the palette, whether it's combining a couple of the darker shades for a sharp contour or setting my under eye concealer with the more banana shade. It's truly versatile.

My favourite product of the bunch has gotta be the Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Shadow Palette. It's essentially three matte eyeshadow quads in one, moving from cool to neutral to warm tones. You can either create eye looks all from one quad or do what I do and mix and match. I haven't worn anything else for the last couple of weeks, and I don't think I've worn the same combo more than once. If you're a neutral eyeshadow girl you'll absolutely love this!

So, are there any misses? The only product I'm on the fence with is the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. For me the nib, which actually has hundreds of individual brush hairs, is really amazing. It's super precise and so easy to use. The pigmentation though, is somewhat lacking for me. It's more grey than black which is pretty disappointing. Maybe the Ink Liner is more my jam?

Kat Von D Beauty Review

I'm definitely going to build on my little Kat Von D collection, I'm definitely going to have to pick up the Lock-It Foundation and Lock-It Creme Concealer. The shade range sounds quite complicated though so definitely one to swatch on a counter!

Have you picked up anything from the Kat Von D range yet, and if so, what are your top picks?
