Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit - Surreal Light

Hourglass Surreal Lighting Edit review

Oh my. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit - Surreal Light really is something special. Every year Hourglass release a gorgeous palette, but I think this has to be the best yet. From the swoon worthy marble packaging to the dreamy hues inside, this is every bit as special as I had hoped it would be.

I own a couple of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders and one of the blush shades, so I've always held off from picking one of the limited edition palettes up, as normally there's only one or two shades that are unique to them. This isn't the case with the Surreal Lighting Edit, although arguably some of the shades are quite similar to the individual shades.

Hourglass Surreal Lighting Edit review

As far as face palettes go, Surreal Lighting Edit is pretty comprehensive and contains everything you need to create the most gorgeous complexion. The powders are so incredibly fine, and literally melt into the skin, giving a real lit from within glow. They're also well pigmented so one light swipe and you're good to go.

Inside the Hourglass Surreal Lighting Edit palette we have Surreal Light (the large pan on the left); an all over dreamy nude shade that will suit all skin tones and give you that soft focus finish that the Lighting Powders are so well known for, Surreal Glow Blush (top left); a peachy pink that really lifts pale skins, Surreal Effect Blush (top right) for a real pop of colour which I''m really digging so far, Surreal Bronze Light (bottom left) for a healthy bronzy glow to the skin and finally, Surreal Strobe Light which is the most beautiful peachy champagne highlight. For me there's not a shade I wouldn't wear so it's a completely justified splurge, right?!

I'm not sure how long this is going to be around, but it's definitely one to keep in mind come payday. Or now if you head over to Space NK and use the code EXPLORE30 for £15 off. Go, go go!

Will you be picking this up?
