Avene Tolerance Extreme

Avene Tolerance Extreme Review

French pharmacy skincare brands seem to nail products for sensitive skin every time. I always wonder if many people in France tend to suffer with their skin, or if they just have a much better ethos when it comes to ingredients and gentle yet effective products? I know that if my skin is having a wobbler I always look to the french pharmacy brands, and they remain my most recommended products.

Avene's Tolerance Extreme range* is aimed at those with hypersensitive and reactive skin. The kind of skin that no matter what you do, will sting and flare up. As my skin is so sensitive at the moment, and often after cleansing resembles a tomato, Avene Tolerance Extreme is a great edition to my bathroom cabinet.

Enriched with Avene's thermal water, Avene Tolerance Extreme Cream* is a rich and deeply moisturising cream. To help those with the most sensitive skin, all of the products in the Tolerance Extreme range consist of only 7 ingredients, cutting out anything that could cause irritation and allergies. Tolerance Extreme Cream has quite a light texture, and after using thick balms over the last few months in my bid to desperately hydrate my skin, I kinda dismissed this after applying it one evening as I thought there's no way it could give enough hydration to my parched skin. Turns out I couldn't have got it more wrong. Come morning, my skin was really comfortable still, no flakes which is a new one, and my skin actually looked plumped for once. And very importantly, it doesn't sting at all.

You know I love a face mask so I've paired the moisturiser with the Avene Tolerance Extreme Mask*. Again, it's formulated with minimal ingredients and in five minutes it injects a dreamy boost of hydration. Its so comfortable on my skin that I actually leave it on for longer but shhh don't tell anyone! Its even more awesome when tripled up with an exfoliating mask and a cleansing mask as the moisture sinks straight in, leaving my skin plump and soothed.

A little geeky but worth mentioning is the packaging, as its actually quite clever. The range uses DEFI packaging, which pops out a little nozzle to dispense the product when you squeeze the tube. Its really hygenic and prevents oxidation and contamination, so they don't need to add preservatives to the product.

Will you be trying this range?
