Dinner at Long-Reach Beefeater Whitstable

beefeater restaurant review

Leon and I are pretty simple and low maintenance when it comes to choosing restaurants. Mainly because Leon refuses to eat vegetables so it kinda narrows down our options! More often than not we end up at Long-Reach Beefeater in Whitstable* as you know what you're getting and the food is delish!

Beefeater have refurbished their restaurants so when given the opportunity, it was only right that we went and had a nosey. The decor is so different and features lots of scandi-inspired loveliness with lots of rustic touches. Basically my kind of Pinterest inspo! Think of lots of grey panelled wood mixed with heavy rustic oak and painted brickwork, industrial lighting and grey and mustard faux leather booth seats. Beefeater has certainly had a very stylish makeover and looks nothing like you would imagine it to.

The Beefeater menu has also had a little makeover in time for the festive season and as meat lovers we were very happy about that as the grill section has been notably revamped and expanded on. Saturdays are always popular, but this one was particularly busy and we had to wait a while for our table and again for our food, but once it arrived it did not disappoint.

We always share a starter so BBQ wings were first up, followed by some gigantic steaks and chunky chips. I plumped for a gorgeous tasty rib-eye whereas Leon had the newly added porterhouse steak which was absolutely huge! It was about 18oz or something crazy like that but the boy did good and finished the lot. I never manage to finish my main course but I still have to have a dessert because why not. I always finish a sundae, that's for sure. An Eton mess it was for me and a chocolate and honeycomb sundae of Leon that I had major envy of so I think I'll have to go for that next time.

I'd highly recommend a visit to your local Beefeater as the food is amazing, but beware, you will end up wanting to run off with the decorations at the end of the night. Oh, and those bell jar lights. Swoon!
