Sunday rituals

I can't believe another week has flown by. It's amazing how time goes so quickly sometimes. On Sunday that becomes all the more apparent and I start dreading the arrival of Monday! It never gets easier, especially if you're going back after some time off. I do actually quite like Mondays. There's something about the arrival of a new week and starting afresh that I crave.  To set myself up for the new week I have some Sunday rituals that help blast away the Sunday night blues and get me looking forward to the week ahead.

Morning
I always make sure I have a quick run around the flat and tidy up as much as I can and give things a quick clean on a Sunday. I'm quite messy and never put clothes and makeup away so if I don't do this I end up running around in a blind panic trying to get dressed in the morning which is somewhat stressful and to be avoided at all costs. It's also such a nice feeling when everything is clean and tidy! I also make sure that all the washing is sorted too as I never find time to do this in the week.

Afternoon
Flat tidy and feeling somewhat smug, the rest of the day if we're not going out, is spent blog writing and scheduling, as well as keeping up with my Bloglovin feed. Again, this gets me all ready for the week ahead and I feel like I'm in control and prepared. I try and get as many photos edited and set up into draft posts at the very least, and if I can I'll write up as many posts as possible and schedule them in. This doesn't always go to plan, but at least I'm giving myself the best possible chance!

Evening
With the clock ticking away, the Sunday blues start to kick in at about 7pm. Especially if we haven't done very much with our weekend and it all feels a bit wasted. I use this time to have a massive pamper session. It always cheers me up and there's nothing nicer than feeling all soft and smooth when you crawl into bed.

For me a pamper always begins with either some bubble bath or bath salts to help me unwind. At the moment I'm using the Arran Aromatics Feel Good Formulas Lavender and Black Pepper Mineral Soak*. These bath salts smell really nice and as they have lavender in and I feel really calm and ready for bed after my bath. I'm not the best sleeper so I find I really rely on lavender to help me nod off. A handful of bath salts later and my bathroom is filled with the most dreamy lavender scent. As there's also some black pepper in there it has a bit of a spicy twist which is really nice. Also can we just take a second to appreciate how gorgeous the kilner jars that these goodies come in are?! Such a lovely touch.

Onto the pamper itself, I usually go for The Body Shop Silky Camomile Cleansing Oil first as it feels so nourishing on my skin, followed by the Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm as my second cleanse as its so nice and softening. I strongly recommend if you haven't tried it yet! Next up is always the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Scrub which never fails to leave my skin really smooth. AHAs and BHAs work so well on my skin so I know that anything with them in will surely be worthwhile using. They're really good at healing blemishes and keeping new ones at bay too. For a glorious hit of moisture I always turn to my trusty Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask. There's nothing out there that has quite the same effect on my skin. I'm so glad I discovered the one!

Onto my body, and as my skin is so dry I really have to look after it and use a body scrub regularly. I'm really digging the Arran Aromatics Feel Good Formulas Seaweed and Mineral Salt Scrub*. It looks a little odd in the tub as its liquid at the top but a thick salt scrub throughout. I mix it up a bit before massaging into my skin. It's quite a coarse exfoliator which is always my preference, so it removes every trace of dry skin. I also find it leaves your skin feeling very soft and moisturised as it includes natural oils. It also smells amazing, I really like herby kinda scents and this scrub like the bath salts, packs a punch.

Once I'm all towelled off I go to town with The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Body Lotion as I'm pretty addicted to this still and it sinks in pretty quickly so I don't have to stand there flapping about before I can get dressed!

All clean and ready for bed there might be a film and a cup of hot chocolate due before its time to hit the sack and begin another week... Do you have any rituals to stave away the Sunday blues?
